hydroponic aphrodisiac / modifying drug garden
I fully understand that the mechanic of gardening is off genre for the purpose of the game, but I find the idea of growing natural stimulants would be fun and interactive way to liven up otherwise overly sterile lab environments as usable decor. Also houses and building that use vertical and hydroponic farming result in happier people due to color psychology and oxygen zone enrichment. Players could grow aphrodisiacs, muscle stimulants and etc and gather research data on their results on the subject as well as find interesting combinations. Don't expect this idea to be used actually, just felt like vocalizing my idea.

this could be a really good mid-game thing, though in the late game it may result in oodles of excess. maybe you can sell unwanted/excess plants or drugs off later as well
